Awaroa Lodge is located in the Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand’s smallest and most visited National Park at the top of the South Island. Surrounded by pristine waterways and native forest, the Lodge has been constructed to make the most of its secluded location which is not accessible by road. Choose from our charming accommodation options; Standard or Family rooms or contemporary architecturally designed Superior Suites built over the wetlands. The main lodge is warm, inviting and full of character with a comfy lounge, library, bar, restaurant and outdoor pizzeria which is open to day visitors, many of whom are walking the coastal track. Enjoy a range of activities like a guided walk or kayak with one of our partner operators, relax on the famous Awaroa beach or take a walk through our grounds and surrounds.
Our Day Spa is available for in-house guests and day visitors by appointment only, so book in and relax.
Arriving at the Lodge is part of the experience of your stay with us and you may choose to arrive on foot or via a scenic water taxi cruise. You will not find some of the usual things that you might expect in a 4 star hotel such as televisions, spa pools and cellphone reception! We generate our own power and use a satellite for our WiFi connection – we do however have great food, welcoming staff, comfortable beds, an abundance of bird life and sensational night skies!
